What is F3?

F3 — our three Fs stand for Fitness, Fellowship and Faith

Fitness: workouts are held outside, open to all men, and always free of charge. They are peer led (not professional) on a rotating basis. Workouts are held at Areas of Operation (AOs) that are freely accessible. Exercises are scalable for various injuries and fitness levels: there’s a large contingent of our PAX in their 60s! YOU DO NOT NEED TO “GET IN SHAPE” BEFORE POSTING AT YOUR FIRST WORKOUT!

Fellowship: Hamton Roads Area is big on “coffeeteria”: after the workout coffee is usually served free of charge in the parking lot or a nearby coffee shop. Not required, but we’ll be there when you’re ready.

Faith: F3 is not a religious organization, but PAX have to believe that they are not the center of the universe. Putting others before yourself, or “Living Third” is the key step to invigorate your leadership.

Our mission is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.

Our motto is to leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.

Our Core Principles

  • Free Of Charge

No one will ever ask you to pay.

  • Open to All Men

Men of all creeds and backgrounds
    are welcome here.

  • Outdoors, Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold

    No matter the conditions,
    we will be here.

  • Peer Led

Led by participants in rotating fashion on a volunteer basis.

  • Ends with a Circle of Trust

Men leaning on men for support, encouragement, and edification.

What is F3 Hampton Roads?

The Hampton Roads Region was launched on 5 Nov. 2016 by Dreamliner and 13 other intrepid PAX at the Mount Trashmore AO. In just under 10 years, that single Areas of Operation (AO) grew into a Region with over 35 AOs. Plant-grow-serve small workout groups has been a strong drive resulting in 7,120 workouts impacting the lives of over 1000 unique PAX.

From 2025-2026, the Hampton Roads Region grew beyond the proximate leadership of a single Shared Leadership Team (SLT). As a nimble, starfish-model organization the leadership team has "divided to multiply" and split into two Regions. Most interaction you'll have is with your AOQs and Regional SLT.

Some functions and Convergences are still held at the "redesignated" Hampton Roads Area level, most of this is back-end for ease of integration. Some events cover the whole Area, such as teams for the Blue Ridge Relay and the Area Birthday Convergence in November commemorating the first post.
